CommentHello everyone, I was able to get a little more information from my dad. William E. Heck (Gunner) he was a machine gunner and he's looking for anyone who served with him, a "Lil Jon " in particular he was an M79 grenade launcher (blooper). One location that I was able to bet out of my dad was early 68 hill 881 he said most of his company got whipped out on this Hill 800 were there and only 112 left. Also he mentioned he was in fubi (spelling). Any info will help please feel free to email me if any of what I posted rings a bell. Thank you all soo much!

CommentCame to 1/1 for my second tour Jan 71 assigned to LT. Wheeler's platoon, My first tour was with 2/9 in 68-69. I was left in Da Nang when 1/1 shipped out. That was an f ---ed up moment in time. Talk about lost in a shuffle, I remember serving in some kind of security unit guarding officer's hill on the ridge above Da Nang I came home and mustered out of the corps with 2/6 in camp Lejeune. What's to say "American by birth, United States Marine by the grace of GOD."

CommentAs Memorial Day nears its time to take a moment and remember all our fallen comrades. If you haven't eyeballed the Memorial we dedicated last August at the Marine Corps Museum I urge you to do so. You can also see a video of the dedication on this web-site. Please be advised we continue to need and accept donations to maintain our site and possibly construct an additional Memorial at Camp Pendleton. Instructions on how to are also on this site under Memorial at Quantico. A peaceful Memorial Day to all. S/F Griff Delta 1/1

CommentSearching for anyone who might know Captain Lawrence Rummans. He was the Company Commander wounded in Quang Nam province. His radio operator was Lcpl Dana "Brownie" Brown. I am a social worker trying to reunite Captain Rummans with any of his men/comrades.
