CommentFellow Marines, Please accept the attached donation (mailed separately) to the outstanding bills that remain after our last reunion and memorial dedication. I hope that our brothers who attended and/or are interested in continuing these reunions will also contribute. We greatly enjoyed the reunion.

CommentI want to personally thank the leadership of our veteran's organization for the Memorial Service at the Base Chapel and Memorial Dedication at the Museum of the Marine Corps to those we lost in Vietnam as our principal reunion events. It was most appropriate and very well done! Thanks to Rick, George, Terry, Connie and Kayla for all their hard work in preparing for, and executing, a great reunion. If I've left someone out deserving of our gratitude, I apologize, It is not intentional.

CommentMy name us Bob Bowen. In 1968 I accompanied Charlie 1/1 on Operations Maui Peak, Meade a River and several lesser named an unnamed S&D ops. I am in the process of writing my memoirs. I have a photo I would like to use in the book, but I don't have the Marine's full name. He was an FO radio operator. I'm told his name was LCpl Baumel, but the first name was not given. On one of the C 1/1 websites, I saw reference to a LCpl R. Baumel. I suspect that's him, but I'd like the full first name.

Comment1/1 began forming at Camp San Mateo in late November '64. The majority of us were "Boots" coming to our first assignments after ITR. We trained there for a nine month period that included "Silver Lance". Mounted out with 1/1 in Aug '65 from Long Beach aboard the Lenawee APA 195. Initially attached to Delta Co but was transferred to Alpha as a replacement immediately after the attack on Hill 22 in October. Semper Fi to my 1/1 Brothers sorry that I missed DC

CommentLooking for LtCol MJ Gravel and anyone who has knowledge regarding a VMO-6 crash on 7 June, 1968 that took the life of your Maj. R. V. Kurilich. I flew with HML-367 out of Marble Mountain in 1970. My friend Tony Paskevich, VMO-2 1968, recently met the brother of 1stLt. Ralph Hunt who was the pilot of a VMO-6 Huey that went down on 7 June 1968 killing Hunt as well as your Major R.V. Kurilich. The family would like to know any additional information about the incident but the VMO-6 command chronology makes no reference to it and there doesn't seem to be an AAR in VMO-6 records. Some records indicate your CO, LtCol. M.J. Gravel may have been onboard and survived the crash. I would like to locate LtCol. Gravel or anyone else that might have information on this mission. Many thanks, s/f joe d.
